I am interested in having a breast augmentation. Are prescriptions included in the price?
Great question. It’s a very good thing to be clear on what’s included and what’s not included. As you may already realize, our prices are posted on the Avalon Clinic website. Our price includes the following: surgeon’s fees, OR fees, implant costs, anesthesia fees and costs, follow up for a year, and routine lab tests. The prices do not include prescription costs or unusual lab test costs.

Do you offer the breast filler injection procedure?
Hi, this is a very interesting question. I assume from the question that you’re researching ways to have larger breasts. And what you’re looking into is the breast filler injection procedures, and that sounds to me like injecting fat into the breasts. I have permission to give you some specific medical guidance here.
The guidance is that unproven procedures may have much greater risks than is apparent.
For example, I recall about 25 years ago I took care of a young lady who 15 years before that had gone to the Philippines. She had liquid wax injected into her breasts. At the time, it was considered a good idea. After that she developed rock hard breasts and eventually had both breasts removed because of the discomfort and hardness of the breasts.
The good news is that unlike the unproven procedures there are several very good methods that have stood the test of time. I would love to talk with you more about this. When you want my professional opinion go ahead and pick up the phone, call 253-582-8486. When the consultant answers just tell her your situation, answer the general questions that she’ll ask, as well as the specific medical questions; go ahead schedule a date for a consultation, co. I’m looking forward to talking with you more in the future and thank you for the very interesting question.
I am interested in gummy breast-type implants. Do you provide this option?
I just got off the phone with Shelley, who is the implant representative for Mentor in the state of Washington. I also talked to one of my good friends who was one of the key researchers in the study of gummy bears. What I found out is that gummy bears are a shaped implant and the outside is a textured. The advantages are that they are a firmer silicone and they tend to maintain their shape. And their main use appears to be in reconstruction of people after breast cancer surgery. They will have some place in cosmetic situations. They do require a bigger incision to get them in place. They tend to be more firm and if they rupture they can look funny in the body. They are not yet approved by the FDA. No one knows when the FDA will approve them.
Mentor has an implant that we use called the memory gel. It’s a silicon implant, much like a gummy bear is, and it tends to hold its’ shape. It has the advantage that you can get it in various shapes and they come in round implants—which in my experience tend to look more natural.
So, when you’re interested in getting my professional opinion please give us a call. Pick up the phone dial 253-582-8486. When the consultant answers go ahead and tell her your situation. She’ll ask you some specific questions that are general, as well as medical questions; go ahead and answer them. She’ll offer you several dates to come in. Choose a date and then come in. Looking forward to seeing you in the future and thank you for the interesting question.
I would like to have my breast implants removed. I am currently living in Los Angeles, California. How much would it cost to remove my implants?
Hi, I understand that you’re considering breast implant removal. I also understand that you’re aware that we are not located in LA and we are located in Lakewood, Washington.
You want to find out what the average cost for breast implant removal is. Before I answer your question if you would tell me some more information. For example, what is the reason you’re considering having the removal done and what is it you want to achieve. Also tell me as much as you can about your current situation such as the type of implants, how long they’ve been in place, are they above or below the muscle, the volume of the implants and anything else that would be helpful.
I’m waiting to hear about your situation and thank you for your question.
I work out at the gym routinely, and am considering a breast enlargement and a tummy tuck. Would I be a good candidate?
I assume from your question that you’re starting the process of getting your body back. The two procedures that you mentioned are often done at the same time. I have many women who have done both together and who have had spectacular results. This combination is becoming more and more common.
The recover time to get back to the gym after a tummy tuck is about six weeks.

About 7 years ago I had a breast augmentation to give me very large breasts. I have since changed my mind. My situation has changed, and exercising has been difficult. I would like smaller breasts, or the implants removed.

I’d like to get a breast reduction (and lift). I just had a baby though. I am not done breast feeding. Do you take insurance? How much would it cost if I paid out of pocket?
We usually see a breast patient six weeks after they have stopped breastfeeding. Sounds to me like you are highly motivated and with good reason. As you are probably aware a breast reduction and breast shaping go hand in hand. The great news is there’s been a significant improvement in the technology of breast reductions. Our fees include everything except for prescriptions and unusual lab fees. They include surgeons fees, OR fees, anesthesia fees, and follow-up for a year. We do not take insurance. Our fees are on the website at ___. When you are ready for a consultation pick up the phone, dial 253-582-8486. When the consultant answers tell her your situation. She’ll ask you some specific medical questions as well as some general questions. Please answer those. She’ll give you a couple options for dates to come in, choose one, come on in, and have a consultation. You will have fun and enjoy the consultation. Looking forward to seeing you in the future and thank you for your question.
I am a 27 year old female considering breast implants. I currently wear a 32A bra. I am petite 97lbs and 5’3”. I want to go from an A cup to maybe a C cup. Will that be too big? I want to fill out my clothes and not feel flat. I want to know what looks natural and do not want to go too big.
You are indeed petite weighing only 97 pounds. You want to naturally fill out your clothes and be proportionate to your body. You’re asking for guidance as to what is the right size for your frame and you do not want to be too big. When you come in for the consultation we’re going to measure the width of the breast. We’ll give you a range that’s based upon your goals and what other people with similar breast widths have done in the past. One of the consultants will help you try on implants. You will then be able to choose the right size for yourself. This is a very exciting process. Sounds to me like you are ready for a consultation.
Go ahead and pick up the phone, dial 253-582-8486. When the consultant answers, tell her your situation. She’s going to ask you some general questions as well as some specific medical questions. Go ahead and answer those and she’ll give you a couple options for dates to come in for consultation; choose one. Come on in and have a consultation. You’ll have fun and enjoy the process very much.
Looking forward to seeing you and thank you for your question.
If I wanted to get my breast to be more round and nicer, would I be able to do payments rather than paying in full?
It sounds like you’re interested in breast implants and are in the process of figuring out how to make this affordable for yourself. This is a very common situation.
I’m not an expert on financing, yet Tammy in our office is. She helps hundreds of people every year find affordable options.
Before you come in for consultation with us you may want to explore the different options Tammy now has for you. Pick up the phone and dial 253-582-8486. Ask to speak with Tammy. When Tammy answers tell her your situation. She’ll ask you some general questions as well as some specific questions. Go ahead and answer those and she’ll guide you and help you.
When you get your financing approved, Tammy will transfer you to one of the consultants who will help you set up a consultation time. You will have fun in the consultation.
Thank you for the question and I’m looking forward to seeing you in the future.
I have old silicone implants from 1981. I just had a clean mammogram but they said my implants might be leaking. What are my risks here? I don’t have the money to replace them. Any suggestions on the cost to remove and replace with saline? Thanks.
What I’m about to say may seem frightening. It is so frightening that some people may not even want to hear it. If you indeed want to know the truth please continue to read.
Your silicon implants are 28 years old and a recent mammogram showed probable silicon leak. You want to understand the risks of a leak. I assume from your question that up until now have been generally happy with your implants.
Often in situations like this, both implants have leaked. Do you by chance remember the manufacturer of the implants?
The main risk from silicon gel is that it can get into the tissue around the breast. The body seals it off. What is then formed is a hard lump. I do advise removing the implants before this happens.
The good news is that the newer silicon implants are vastly improved. Saline breast implants, if they leak, the saline is easily absorbed by the body. So there are at least two very good options.
The cost of the surgery is a function of how difficult it is to remove the implants that are present. The cost will be given to you as a written quote at the time of your consultation.
When you come in for your consultation please bring the mammogram report.
To schedule your consultation pick up the phone and dial 253-582-8486. A consultant will answer. Go ahead and tell her your situation. Plan on the consultation taking at least 90 minutes.
I’m looking forward to seeing you in the future and thank you for your question.
I am 17 years old. One of my breasts is completely smaller than the other and it is really noticeable. Would it be a good idea to get implants when I turn 18?
When one breast is a different size than the other that situation is called breast asymmetry. Sometimes the treatment is to have breast implants of different sizes. The only way to know for sure is to have a consultation.
It sounds like the difference being so noticeable is bothering you a lot. The good news is that breast asymmetry correction can sometimes be done before 18 years of age. Your parents of course would be involved with that decision.
When you come in for your consultation, please bring your medicines, vitamins, and supplements.

Looking forward to seeing you. Thank you for your question.
I am turning 24years old and have 2 kids. I am so flat chested that there is little breast tissue. When I go out I have to where a padded bra always. I want to be at least a C cup. I have been told that there is no way that I could get implants because there is not breast tissue there in the first place. It is so embarrassing to go out and to even be intimate with nothing on top. So my question is, is it possible to get implants with having very little breast tissue in the first place?
What I understand from your question is that you have been embarrassed about your breasts for a long time. There is hardly any breast tissue present and this lack of normal fullness creates many instances where the shyness can almost paralyze you. Someone also told you that breast implants would not be possible for you.
Your situation is a relatively common one. Many of our patients who have implants were teased and embarrassed before they decided to change their breast size or shape now.
When you come in for your consultation, please bring a list of all your medications, vitamins, and supplements.

I am 17 years old and have been mulling over the idea of breast implants for about 1 and a half years, ever since I realized my breasts had stopped developing. I have saved up enough money for it and I hope to have the surgery when I turn 18 in a few months. My question is this: can I come in for a consultation as a 17 year old? If so, do I need to have a guardian of some sort with me? I am in the process of researching the price and procedure through different clinics and I hope to go to a few different consultations to get a good idea of what I will be looking at and Avalon is my first stop.
You have decided to have breast implants. You got motivated 18 months ago when you realized your breasts had stopped developing. You now are ready to have your consultation and want to know if you can have the consultation before you turn 18 years of age.
I’m impressed with your dedication and focus.
You can of course bring in a guardian. You do not need to have a guardian for the consultation. You may also bring in a friend. Many people find value in having another person present at the consultation since they can give feedback when you are trying on implants. The doctor and consultant will be with you during your consultation. It will last about two hours. It will be very informative and fun.
When you come in for your consultation, please bring a list of your medicines, vitamins, and supplements.
To schedule your consultation, pickup the phone, dial (253) 582-8486. When the consultant answers, tell her your situation. Also, tell her that Dr. Kenevan said it was okay for you to come in for a consultation. She will ask you some specific medical questions as well as some general questions. Go ahead and answer those. Come on in and have a good time at your consultation.
Looking forward to talking with you in the future and thank you for your question.
I have been looking online at girls who went with a 400cc size became a D. I’m afraid that if I go to big it would look unnatural and fake, I want to look balanced. Since I am 98lbs, five foot three, would a 325-350cc or even a 375cc be something that would look more natural on me? What size would that put in me?.
I clearly remember your consultation. You are about 98 pounds and about 5’3”. The cup size was a 32A and you want to look balanced. You definitely do not want to look fake.
You are naturally doing a very good job of choosing a size that fits your body. Based upon your feedback, I like the 325 to 350 range. Good job.
When you come in for your pre-operative visit, you will choose your implant size.. You will have more fun doing that.
Looking forward to seeing you in the future and thank you for your question.
I compete in figure competitions and am seriously considering breast augmentation. Since my chest is pretty muscular, would I have to stop lifting for a period of time before having surgery? I would prefer to go under the muscle. Also, can you give me an estimate of how long I would have to wait post surgery to begin my exercise routine?
Figure competitions sounds very challenging and extremely rigorous. My guess is that it takes a lot of dedication and effort on your part. Anyway, you want to know about exercising before and after surgery. You can exercise right up to the day before surgery and you can resume exercising six weeks after surgery. I also agree that under the muscle is usually the best choice.
When you come in for your consultation, please bring a list of your medications, the vitamins you take as well as the supplements.
To schedule an appointment, pick up the phone dial 253-582-8486. When the consultant answers tell her your situation and what you want. You will have a very informative and fun time in your consultation. It will take approximately two hours.
Looking forward to seeing you and thank you for your question.
Can overweight women get breast augmentation? If so, what additional issues need to be known?
I won’t be able to answer your specific questions without more information. I’m going to ask you to call the office and talk to Pam. Please pick up the phone, dial 253-582-8486. When the phone is answered, ask to speak with Pam. When Pam answers tell her your situation; also tell her that I asked you to call her. She’ll ask you some general questions and some specific medical questions. She’ll bring that information to me and I may request more information from you. I will be able to give you further feedback after we get the necessary information. I’m looking forward to talking with you in the future and thank you very much for your question.
I have suffered from the weight of my breast most of my adult life. I am small around the back but at least a DD or E cup and it is very hard to find a bra to fit me. My shoulders hurt and so does my back by the end of the day. I am now 56 and ask myself is it really worth it at this age or should I just continue to suffer and be dissatisfied? Will a lift decrease the size to a D or C cup size for more comfort? How much would it cost me to do that?
As you were describing your situation, I thought back to many of my patients who have a similar story. They complained about the neck and back pain associated with large breasts. They also stated it became unbearable at the end of day. After they had a breast reduction/breast lift, they stated that they had wished they had done it years before. What they told is that the pain got worse with each of the passing years until they finally decided to have a breast reduction.
The cost of the surgery is posted on the website. It’s important to know that the cost includes surgeon fees, anesthesia costs, OR costs, and follow up for one year. It does not include prescriptions or unusual lab tests. I assume you’re in good health.
When you come in for your consultation, please bring a list of your medicines as well as your vitamins and supplements.
To schedule a consultation, please pick up the phone, dial 253-582-8486. When the phone is answered, ask to speak to one of the consultants. Tell her your situation. You find the consultation very informative and enjoyable.

I am preparing to have a tummy tuck and a breast lift done. I will be financially prepared to have this surgery completed in February of 2010 and would like to begin the steps that are necessary now, as far as consulting and setting goals. How long does it take to recover from both of these procedures? Is there a discount if two procedures are done at once?
You are planning on having breast lift surgery and a tummy tuck sometime after February 2010. You are beginning the planning phase and want to know recovery times. You also want to know if they can be done together.
If your blood work is okay then they can be done together. Most of our patients prefer doing them together since there is only one recovery time period. Recovery time is six weeks until you can return to full activity. Most people return to work two weeks after the surgery. These procedures are usually done with two doctors.
When you come in for your consultation, please bring a list of your medications, vitamins and supplements.
To schedule your consultation, pick up the phone dial 253-582-8486. When the phone is answered by one of the consultants, tell her your situation. She will ask you some general questions and some specific medical questions. Go ahead and answer those. She will give you a choice of dates. Go ahead and pick one, come on in, and you find the consultation very informative and enjoyable. It will take anywhere from an hour in half to two in half hours.
Looking forward to seeing you and thank you for your question.
I have currently lost a bunch of weight and most of it in my breast. I had a dd and am now a large b cup with major extra skin. Im 26 years old no kids and don’t plan on any for about 7 years. What do you recommend. Is there a discount involved if getting a lift as well as implants?
You are 26 years old and your breasts were much larger in the past. Your breast cup size is now about a B. You also have a lot of loose skin. This implies that there has been a significant loss of volume in the breast. What is not clear from your question is how much sag is present in your breasts now.
The amount of sag determines what specific procedure is needed. In some cases only implants are appropriate. In other cases only lift is appropriate. In other cases both are required.
I would like to invite you to participate in the phone conference on plastic surgery that we have every Wednesday night at 6:55 PM. It covers a variety of different topics. It is highly informative, very fun and of immense value. There are replays available. There is also a library of previous phone conferences. Many of the conferences deal with the topic that you’re referring to.
Thank you for your question. I hope I have been of service to you. Looking forward to seeing you in the future.
Here is the unsettling information. Many intelligent people want certainty about the future. I do not blame them. The bad news is the future is unknowable.
There is no way to know the effect pregnancy will have on the breasts. I’ve seen people who have no implants in their breasts that have significant breast changes after pregnancy. I’ve also seen patients who have implants that have pregnancies and their breasts change very little. Again there is no way to know what affect pregnancy will have on the breast.
I would invite you to participate in a phone conference on plastic surgery that we sponsor every Wednesday night at 6:55 PM. We cover a variety of different topics. Many of my patients have told me how valuable these phone conferences are. There are replays available. There’s also a library available of past phone conferences. I know you’ll find it very useful to be involved with the phone conferences.
Thank you for your question. I hope I have been of service to you. Looking forward to talking with you in the future.
