Choosing a Breast Implant Size
Implant Sizing
For many women, making the decision to have breast augmentation surgery is a big deal. Most think about it for years and often times share their thoughts with their friends and other people close to them. Some women spend years researching information about this procedure, talking with other women who have had it done. Waiting for the perfect time, after children, when the kids go to college, when they have enough money saved up before making the first call to a cosmetic surgeon.
Once you make the decision, you meet with your surgeon for a consultation and spend time understanding how a sizing recommendation is determined. Keep in mind that you are the final judge for choosing implant size. Most patients find it helpful to have a friend or family member along for support and their opinion in choosing a size.
When you make the decision to have the breast augmentation procedure that you have been thinking about for so long, you probably have a picture in your mind of the perfect size. You think you know exactly what size implants you want because you know what bra cup size you want and you have your heart set on being just “that” perfect cup size.
During your consultation appointment with your Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon, you may be shocked to find out that a lot goes in to choosing the right implant size. You also learn that the same size your best friend has may not the best size for you.
So, how do you choose the right size?
At the Avalon Clinic for Cosmetic Surgery, your surgeon will spend time with you going over your situation, taking measurements, and going over sizing with you. Ultimately, with the doctor’s help, you will be able to pick the right implant size for you.
